How To Throw A Slumber Party

A sleepover is always a great way to gather a few friends together and have a great time - but, as with any kind of party, you need to do a little bit of prep and planning to ensure that everything goes off without a hitch.

If you’ve been thinking about revisiting your childhood and throwing a slumber party, or perhaps your little ones want to throw their very first one, here are a few top tips from the team here at Slumber Hut to help you get it just right. Enjoy!

Pick a theme

It’s a lot easier to make party-related decisions if you have a theme in mind, as it gives you a clear path to follow. Pick a theme based on your interests and favourite things… the more passion you have for something, the more successful your party will be!

Devise the menu

A successful slumber party hinges on the refreshments, so make sure you think long and hard about what you want to serve. Pizza is always a winner, as are sharing platters of sandwiches, nachos, fruit and crudites… but make sure that you hold some tasty treats back for later, so you can break them out for the time-honoured midnight feast!

Plan the sleeping arrangements ahead of time

Don’t wait until the guests arrive to decide where everyone is sleeping. It’s best to do this in advance so people can come in and find their spots immediately. A great sleeping spot arrangement is in a circle, as this is nice and inclusive, and no one will feel left out on the periphery of all the action.

Don’t forget the entertainment

Any good slumber party features a few games, so think about how you want to keep everyone entertained. Dance parties are always a great idea and everyone can join in easily, so put a playlist together and away you go. Movies are, of course, a must - and don’t forget the classic pillow fight, another slumber party essential!
